Gedenkstätte Ahlem – Flight and Migration capture in a picture with paint and canvas
Workshop from September 4th to 6th.
When the words memorial and graffiti are in one sentence, the message behind them is often related to vandalism. Not this time, on the contrary: The Ahlem Memorial invites young people from the age of 14 to a graffiti workshop. From September 4 to 6, 2020, together with the artist Philipp von Zitzewitz, they will explore the topics of flight and migration - with paint and canvas.
"We want to compare the past and the present," explains Shaun Hermel, research assistant at the Ahlem Memorial. "The participants are welcome to bring their own experiences, their own stories, which they would like to share with us."
The participants do not need to worry about the material, they just have to bring mouth and nose protection themselves. The workshop will take place on the grounds of the Ahlem Memorial, Heisterbergallee 10, 30453 Hanover. The young artists have three days for their works:
Friday, September 4th, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, September 5th, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, September 6th, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
